After play wrapped up, everyone moved on to the awards banquet. The evening centred on the prize presentation, where president Jack Lee noted that each champion’s name is engraved permanently on the President’s Cup legacy trophy, becoming part of the club’s history.
What followed was the most relaxed stretch of the day: a full table of good food, round after round of toasts, and karaoke that ran long. The rivals who had been conceding strokes to one another that afternoon spent the evening sharing a table.
For a lot of members, that dinner and those songs are the most concrete reason to be part of the club. We hold a gathering like this after nearly every tournament, and newcomers are always welcome.
